about

The Relic of Thun’kahr wrought untold havoc in the days when it was wielded by the eponymous ancestor of the Thun tribe. In his mountain kingdom of Obragar he ruled with absolute power, able to call down the rain and lightning at will on his friends and foes alike. His thirst for conquest never matched his fondness for his homeland, and thus his legend never spread to the outside world. Upon his death, he defied nature to entrap his own reluctant soul within the immensely powerful orb to which he was so intimately connected during life. Thusly he ensured that even in death, no one would wield the orb but he.

His advisors, who had lived in fear of Thun’kahr’s terrible whims during his reign, banded together to found a new society dedicated to the protection of the relic and concealment of its existence. The Thun barred all outsiders from their already inhospitable land, which faded more and more into obscurity and isolation.

Enough time passes for history to become legend and teeter on the brink of mythhood. A talented young monk begins to question the purpose to which he has dedicated his life.

As the elder son of his tribe’s spiritual leader, he is privy to the monks’ highest secrets. Using this knowledge, he devises a plan to seize the orb and flee the kingdom. In doing so, he hopes to liberate his people from the oppressiveness of their sheltered monastic existence while beginning a new life of his own - a life of freedom.

His plan goes off without a hitch, to a point. As he breaks the final seal and lays his hands upon the orb, he can feel a new presence surge into his consciousness. Thun’kar awakens at last, ecstatic to have a new host through which to express his immortal rage.
